I was served by great people in a timely manner and I love that they focus on a compact menu so you can be sure they are good at what they do. I got the Chicken on the Rocks (chicken and rice) which came with garlic sauce on top and I chose to go with the hot sauce as well (careful! this isn't sriracha you are dealing with!). I had gotten used to the bland versions you get at places like Lazeez but I was blown away! Great portions of high quality chicken that was flavourful by itself but the sauce took it to the next level! You have to try it! Generous portions, amazing taste, reasonably priced and great service in a sea of boring corporate chains is what this place is and you will be glad you tried it ”

I will definitely keep coming here the owner is nice and has been running the shop for 10+years. “ After many years of having graduated from the University of Guelph, I once again found myself at the infamous intersection Macdonell and Whyndam at 2 AM after a night of carousing. I decided to go back to my roots and treat myself to a samosa and chickpeas at Tangy and Tasty. This was a dish I used to eat early on in my bar career as I aimed to incorporate plant-based foods before I was vegan. In those early years I had built somewhat of a relationship with the owner who was still there! Not only did she recognize me, but she also even remembered my name. It felt like I travelled through a time machine to 2016. The samosa and chickpeas tasted as delicious as I remembered, one of the healthier dishes you can eat to help launch the hangover recovery before you go to bed. Menu is not overly large because everything is freshly prepared and not warmed up frozen food like other similar restaurants in the neighborhood. Would you believe it, owners make their own fresh spices and ground different seeds to make their food amazingly tasty. This place is a live testimony of how tasty and nutritious vegetarian food can really be. After eating here, I feel light on my feet and energized because their food is so healthy and light, but also filling. If you are in downtown Guelph, this is THE best place to eat! ”
